Analiza przestrzeni literackiej w zbiorze opowiadań Michala Vrby Kolem Jakuba

The aim of this study is to examine the literary space in Michal Vrba's short stories. It begins with an introduction to the author himself and his previous publications. The discussion also addresses the issues of literary spaces, their construction, functions, and research methods. To gain a better understanding of the topic, the symbolism of lakes in European literature and the tradition of fishpond cultivation in the Czech Republic are discussed. The study then focuses on analyzing the motive of the titular Jakub, focusing on the symbolism and metaphorical value attributed to him. It describes how Jakub has a direct influence on the plot, the atmosphere, and the identity of the characters. The research is based on scholarly literature and specialized journals dedicated to the study of literary space. The study also includes the Central European context in which the stories are set. Poruszona jest również problematyka przestrzeni literackich, przykłady ich konstrukcji, funkcji oraz metody badawcze. W celu lepszego zrozumienia tematu, omawiana jest symbolika jezior w europejskiej literaturze oraz tradycji hodowli rybnych w Czechach.
