The oldest court files of Wąwolnica (1476-1500) as a source for genealogical research

Przedmiotem zainteresowania niniejszej pracy są badania prozopograficzne nad mieszczaństwem średniowiecznej Wąwolnicy na podstawie zachowanych miejskich akt sądowych z XV w. Źródło to jest znane gronu historykom głównie dzięki edycji obejmującej lata 1476–1500. Jednak do dzisiaj nie poświęcono zapiskom z tychże ksiąg szczegółowych studiów odnośnie do prozopografii. Dlatego celem pracy jest sporządzenie pionierskiego studium dotyczącego późnośredniowiecznego wąwolnickiego mieszczaństwa, które będzie przyczynkiem do dalszych badań w zakresie prozopografii tej grupy społecznej dla kolejnych lat, z których źródła pozostają w rękopisie. Zamierzenie to będzie zrealizowane poprzez zestawienie zarysu dziejów trzech wybranych rodzin mieszczańskich oraz przedmieszczańskich w ostatniej ćwierci XV w. Uwaga autora została zwrócona na takie aspekty, jak związki genealogiczne, kariera oraz majątek poszczególnych członków rodzin, aby anonimowe dotąd postaci umiejscowić w przestrzeni historycznej. Jako uzupełnienie rozważań odnośnie do społeczeństwa małego miasta zostanie również scharakteryzowana wąwolnicka rada miejska i jej skład w omawianym okresie, co wiąże się z faktem, że rajcami miejskimi byli także przedstawiciele omawianych w tej pracy rodzin.

The subject of interest of this work is prosopographic research on the burghers of medieval Wąwolnica based on preserved city court records from the 15th century. This source is known to historians mainly thanks to the edition covering the years 1476–1500. However, to this day, no detailed study of prosopography has been devoted to the records of these books. Therefore, the aim of the work is to prepare a pioneering study on the late medieval burghers of Wąwolnica, which will be a contribution to further research in the field of prosopography of this social group for the following years, the sources of which remain in the manuscript. This intention will be implemented by compiling an outline of the history of three selected burgher and suburban families in the last quarter of the 15th century. The author's attention has been paid to such aspects as genealogical relationships, career and property of individual family members in order to place the hitherto anonymous figures in historical space. As a supplement to the considerations regarding the society of a small town, the Wąwolnica town council and its composition in the discussed period will also be characterized, which is related to the fact that the town councilors were also representatives of the families discussed in this work.
