Twórczość heraldyczna Wacława Potockiego (1621-1696)

Niniejsza praca podejmuje problematykę twórczości heraldycznej Wacława Potockiego. W pierwszym rozdziale zarysowuję stan badań nad staropolską literaturą heraldyczno-genealogiczną. Rozdział drugi traktuje o budowie manuskryptu i sposobie, w jaki skonstruowano narrację o herbach. W rozdziale trzecim poruszono kwestię przedstawienia herbów Rzeczpospolitej Obojga Narodów, wraz z interpretacją przekazu, który niosą ze sobą utwory mówiące o herbach. Ostatni rozdział stanowi wyraz barokowego spojrzenia na rolę kobiet, kwestię udziału w życiu społecznym i religijnym.

This thesis addresses the heraldic works of Wacław Potocki. In the first chapter, I outline the state of research on Old Polish heraldic and genealogical literature. The second chapter deals with the manuscript's construction and how the narrative on coats of arms was constructed. The third chapter deals with the representation of the coats of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and an interpretation of the message conveyed by works that speak of coats of arms. The final chapter expresses the Baroque view of the role of women and the question of participation in social and religious life.
