Alcohol Abuse Among Secondary School Youth

Celem niniejszej pracy jest zobrazowanie negatywnych skutków, jakie alkohol wywiera na zdrowie fizyczne oraz psychiczne u osób małoletnich. Dodatkowo, praca ma na celu przedstawienie tła kulturowo-historycznego oraz jego wpływu na powszechność spożywania alkoholu zarówno wśród ogółu społeczeństwa, jak i w populacji osób nieletnich. Ponadto, analizowana jest tematyka profilaktyki uzależnień prowadzonej przez szkoły publiczne oraz samorządy lokalne poprzez zbadanie ich powszechności oraz skuteczności. Na potrzeby pracy zostało przeprowadzone badanie, polegające na szeregu wywiadów mających na celu ukazanie różnic w postrzeganiu zjawiska nadużywania alkoholu przez młodzież. Badanie obejmowało rozmowy z przedstawicielami samorządów uczniowskich, nauczycielami, wychowawcami, pedagogami i psychologami szkolnymi, oraz dyrektorami.

The aim of this study is to illustrate the negative effects that alcohol has on the physical and mental health of minors. Additionally, the paper aims to present the cultural and historical background and its influence on the prevalence of alcohol consumption among both the general population and the population of minors. Furthermore, the topic of addiction prevention conducted by public schools and local authorities is analysed by examining its prevalence and effectiveness. For the purpose of this study, a research was conducted involving a series of interviews aimed at highlighting the differences in the perception of alcohol abuse among young people. The study encompassed discussions with representatives of student councils, teachers, educators, school counsellors, and school psychologists, as well as principals.
