‘What is the name of the hood we at? WuWuA!’ — linguistic model of Warsaw in the lyrics of capital rappers

The main assumption of the work is to present the linguistic image of Warsaw resulting from the lyrics of rap songs created by authors from the capital. The theoretical part presents the history of rap as a musical genre and the culture associated with it. In addition, the most important information about the city itself is presented, which creates the context necessary to understand some texts. In addition, linguistic concepts are defined: metaphor, metonymy and the linguistic model of the world. The research part is the analysis of 47 selected texts and detailing the image of the city manifested in them.

Głównym założeniem pracy jest przedstawienie językowego obrazu Warszawy wynikającego z tekstów piosenek rapowych tworzonych przez stołecznych autorów. Część teoretyczna przedstawia historię rapu jako gatunku muzycznego i kultury z nim związanej. Dodatkowo zaprezentowano najważniejsze informacje o samym mieście, co tworzy kontekst niezbędny do zrozumienia niektórych tekstów. Dodatkowo zdefiniowano pojęcia językowe: metaforę, metonimię oraz językowy obraz świata. Część badawcza polega na analizie 47 wybranych tekstów i wyszczególnieniu przejawiającego się w nich obrazu miasta.
