Iwana Wyrypajewa można zaliczyć do przedstawicieli teatru narracyjnego w Rosji. Ponieważ dramaturg sam wystawia swoje sztuki, istnieje ścisły związek między poetyką jego tekstów a sposobem ich realizacji na scenie. Dramaty Wyrypajewa charakteryzuje zasada wzajemnego podważania elementów semantycznych i formalnych, które tworzą trudną do zracjonalizowania polifoniczną strukturę. Na przekór tej zasadzie, niniejszy artykuł stanowi próbę analizy sztuki "Iluzje" (2011) z wykorzystaniem metody close reading i przy zwróceniu szczególnej uwagi na strategie dyskursywne postaci oraz narratorów-performerów.

Ivan Vyrypaev can be considered a representative of narrative theater in Russia. Since the dramatist stages his plays himself, one can notice a close relationship between the poetics of the texts and the way they are staged. One of the characteristic features of Vyrypaev’s plays is the principle of the mutual undermining of semantic and formal elements that form a polyphonic structure that is difficult to comprehend rationally. This principle notwithstanding, an analysis is undertaken in the article of the play Illusions (2011) using the method of close reading, as well as paying special attention to discursive strategies of characters and narrators
