Transczłowiek w twórczości Jacka Dukaja. Studium wybranych powieści

The aim of this work is to analyse and schematise the issue of the progression of the transitional human body in selected works by Jacek Dukaj ('Perfect Imperfection', 'The Old Age of the Axolotl', 'Extensa', 'Black Oceans' and 'Aguerre in the Dawn'), in which technological evolution involves only particular individuals among the whole of society. Each of the novels in question presents a distinct vision of the transhuman, i.e. a transitional human being who is constantly trans-evolving or seeking new opportunities for development. In addition to explaining the phenomenon of transhumanity and its possible corporeal realisations, four main attitudes of the transitional human towards the biological (Reluctance, Service, Cooperation and Neutrality) have been identified for the purpose of analysis. This analysis would not have been possible without taking into account the work of science-fiction writers such as Stanislaw Lem, Terry Bisson and Isaac Asimov and the perspectives of alien life forms they describe on the protein structures that build Homo Sapiens organisms. Capturing this kind of relationship between transhuman and biological humans allows us to re-read the motivations behind the societies created by Dukaj. Furthermore, the work also takes into account the depiction of the imperfections of the transhuman body, showing its flaws and problems caused by the influence of new technologies. The main analytical method of this thesis is the analysis of the literary hero on the grounds of cultural anthropology, taking into account sciences such as sociology and psychology.

Celem pracy jest analiza i uschematyzowanie zagadnienia progresu ciała człowieka przejściowego w wybranych utworach Jacka Dukaja (,,Perfekcyjna niedoskonałość", ,,Starość aksolotla", ,,Extensa", ,,Czarne oceany" i ,,Aguerre w świcie"), w których ewolucja technologiczna obejmuje jedynie poszczególne jednostki spośród całego społeczeństwa. Każda z omawianych powieści prezentuje odrębną wizję transczłowieka, czyli człowieka przejściowego, który nieustannie transwoluuje, bądź szuka nowych możliwości rozwoju. Oprócz wyjaśnienia zjawiska transczłowieczeństwa i jego możliwych realizacji cielesnych, na potrzebę analizy zostały wyodrębnione cztery główne postawy człowieka przejściowego względem biologicznego (Niechęć, Służba, Współpraca oraz Neutralność). Ta analiza nie byłaby możliwa bez uwzględnienia twórczości takich pisarzy science-fiction jak Stanisław Lem, Terry Bisson oraz Isaac Asimov i opisywanych przez nich perspektyw obcych form życia na struktury białkowe, budujące organizmy Homo Sapiens. Wychwycenie tego rodzaju relacji pomiędzy transczłowiekiem a człowiekiem biologicznym pozwala na nowo odczytać motywacje jakimi kierują się społeczeństwa wykreowane przez Dukaja. Ponadto praca uwzględnia także ukazanie niedoskonałości ciała człowieka przejściowego, ukazując jego wady i problemy spowodowane wpływem nowych technologii. Główną metodą analityczną tejże pracy jest analiza bohatera literackiego na gruncie antropologii kulturowej z uwzględnieniem nauk z zakresu m.in. socjologii i psychologii.
