This paper is a comparative analysis of the translations of the first volume in the series of novels by J. K. Rowling entitled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone into Arabic and Polish. It describes the main translation techniques with examples. The paper also gives the main principles of Islam, which form the basis for the analysis of cultural differences. The purpose of the analysis is to present the translation techniques used and to demonstrate the cultural differences in translation into Arabic.

Niniejsza praca jest analizą porównawczą tłumaczenia pierwszego tomu z cyklu powieści autorstwa J. K. Rowling pt. Harry Potter i Kamień Filozoficzny na język arabski i polski. Opisuje główne techniki tłumaczeniowe wraz z przykładami. W pracy podano również najważniejsze zasady islamu, które stanowią podstawę do analizy różnic kulturowych. Celem analizy jest przedstawienie użytych technik tłumaczeniowych oraz wykazanie różnic kulturowych w tłumaczeniu na język arabski.
