Niniejsza praca stanowi kompleksową analizę sytuacji osób g/Głuchych w Polsce. Praca rozpoczyna się od przedstawienia historii g/Głuchych oraz charakterystyki ich społeczności, co stanowi tło kontekstowe dla poruszanej tematyki. Głównym celem analizy jest przybliżenie społecznych wyzwań przed którymi stoją g/Głusi. W pracy uwzględniono szereg kluczowych sfer życia, takich jak ochrona zdrowia, edukacja, administracja publiczna, rynek pracy, pomoc psychologiczno-psychiatryczna oraz kultura. Ponadto poruszono kwestię ważności języka migowego oraz tożsamości kulturowej osób g/Głuchych, a także zaprezentowano dwa podejścia do głuchoty istniejące w obecnym dyskursie – model medyczny oraz socjokulturowy. Przybliżono akty prawne chroniące osoby niesłyszące, co więcej na ich tle spróbowano zaprezentować poziom egzekwowania przepisów prawnych w praktyce. Tekst jest próbą uchwycenia trudności, z jakimi na co dzień zmagają się g/Głusi, przybliżając ich realia życia, przełamując istniejące w społecznej dyskusji fałszywe, błędne przekonania na temat niesłyszących.

This thesis constitutes a comprehensive analysis of the situation of Deaf individuals in Poland. The work begins with an introduction to the history and characteristics of the Deaf community, providing a contextual background for the discussed topics. The primary objective of the analysis is to shed light on the social challenges faced by Deaf individuals. The study encompasses various key aspects of life, such as healthcare, education, public administration, the job market, psychological-psychiatric support, and culture. Furthermore, it addresses the significance of sign language and the cultural identity of Deaf individuals. Two approaches to deafness in discourse—the medical model and the socio-cultural model—are presented. Legal acts protecting Deaf individuals are also outlined, and an attempt is made to assess the enforcement of legal provisions in practice. This thesis serves as an endeavor to capture the daily struggles of Deaf individuals, offering insights into their realities and dispelling misconceptions prevalent in societal discourse about the Deaf community."
