The critique of the court and the application of the law in Franz Kafka’s novel "The Trial"
This article presents an analysis of Franz Kafka’s view on the law based on his novel "The Trial". It explains the way in which Kafka uses and understands such legal terms as justice, court, truth or law itself. It is shown that "The Trial" charges courts, judges and other members of the legal system with being self-absorbed, arbitrary and corrupt and that in fact everyone, but above all the protagonist of the novel, is a victim of the law which is used not in favor of humanity but against it.
