Zainteresowanie i gotowość studentów farmacji i farmaceutów do prowadzenia usług opieki farmaceutycznej

The concept of pharmaceutical care has been around since the 1970s. A 5.5-year pharmacy degree, specializations in pharmacy and clinical pharmacy and also programs in pharmacists' continuing education prepare them to provide care. Pharmaceutical care undoubtedly has many benefits for the health care system, however, there are also barriers that prevent its real implementation in Polish pharmacies.The aim of the study was to assess interest and readiness for pharmaceutical care among pharmacy students and pharmacists. A survey was conducted, asking both groups about the services they are most interested and how prepared they feel to carry them out in their daily work. They were also asked to match the listed services with the best funding source in their opinion. The survey population consisted of 120 students and 111 pharmacists.The results of the surveys showed that both students and pharmacists have a strong interest in pharmaceutical care. Both groups would most like to conduct drug reviews, issue prescriptions and provide pharmaceutical consultations. Pharmacists show better preparation for providing pharmaceutical care as a result of their knowledge and experience. Both students and pharmacists rate interpersonal relationship competencies better than professional in themselves. They point to the NHF as their preferred source of funding for pharmaceutical care.The study demonstrates that pharmaceutical care should be an integral part of the pharmacy profession, but that the pharmacy curriculum should be expanded to include more practical classes, and that pharmacists should have greater access to paid courses to develop their skills.

Pojęcie opieki farmaceutycznej funkcjonuje już od lat 70-tych XX wieku. Do prowadzenia opieki przygotowują 5,5-letnie studia farmaceutyczne, specjalizacje z farmacji aptecznej i klinicznej oraz programy w ramach szkoleń ciągłych farmaceutów. Opieka farmaceutyczna ma niewątpliwe wiele korzyści dla całego systemu ochrony zdrowia, jednakże istnieją również bariery, które uniemożliwiają jej realne wdrożenie do polskich aptek.Celem pracy była ocena zainteresowania i gotowości do prowadzenia opieki farmaceutycznej wśród studentów farmacji i farmaceutów. Przeprowadzono badanie ankietowe, w którym zapytano obie grupy o usługi, których prowadzeniem są najbardziej zainteresowani oraz stwierdzenie, na ile czują się przygotowani do ich realizacji w codziennej pracy. Poproszono ich także o dopasowanie wymienionych usług do najlepszych ich zdaniem źródeł finansowania. Populację badaną stanowiło 120 studentów i 111 farmaceutów. Wyniki ankiet pokazały, że zarówno studenci jak i farmaceuci wykazują duże zainteresowanie opieką farmaceutyczną. Obie grupy najbardziej chciałyby przeprowadzać przeglądy lekowe, wystawiać recepty oraz prowadzić konsultacje farmaceutyczne. Farmaceuci wykazują lepsze przygotowanie do prowadzenia opieki farmaceutycznej, co wynika z ich wiedzy i doświadczenia. Zarówno studenci jak i farmaceuci lepiej oceniają u siebie kompetencje związane z relacjami międzyludzkimi niż profesjonalne. Wskazują NFZ jako preferowane źródło finansowania opieki farmaceutycznej. W pracy wykazano, że opieka farmaceutyczna powinna być nieodłącznym elementem zawodu farmaceuty, jednak należałoby rozszerzyć program studiów farmaceutycznych o większą ilość zajęć praktycznych oraz umożliwić farmaceutom szerszy dostęp do płatnych szkoleń pozwalających na rozwinięcie ich umiejętności.
