The use of a fuzzy rule-based system in adaptive e-learning content based on intercultural competence
The article presents a fuzzy system which has been used in an adaptive e-learning content on effective
cooperation with a Chinese business partner. The content adapts to the identified level of the student’s intercultural competence and directs them to the specified education path. During the decision-making process, six variables are taken into account to establish the level of intercultural competence. The
studies are conducted on an e-learning course intended for employees with different experiences in intercultural work. Control of the learning individualization is carried out using a hybrid model, in which the fuzzy controller is supplemented with a rule-based system. The adaptive e-learning content is
constructed using an architecture where the whole solution is run on the student’s internet browser.
