W stronę etnografii Facebooka : przypadek badań nad diasporą i pamięcią Ukraińców w Kanadzie

The paper discusses the importance of Facebook as a medium, tool source of data and a context for an ethnographer, especially if she or he is interested in such questions as memory, diaspora, nationalism, etc. Today a distinction between the "real" and the "virtual" is no longer valid since we live in between, easily switching from offline to online status. Therefore, anthropologists need to include Facebook as an important element of the field in their research.The author explores methodological and ethical aspects of Facebook ethnography and, using the example of the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada, she analyzes the role of Facebook in memory practices within a community.
