The article analyses the presence of initiation and the initiation scheme as an interpretation context of the works by Czesław Miłosz. The author presents and coments on the works by the researchers who apply the notion of initiation in their interpertation of the writer's works, and offers her own complementary interpretations. She also draws conclusions referring to the significance of the initiation context for comprehending the meanings of the works in question.
