Miejsce nazewnictwa historycznego jako niematerialnego dziedzictwa kultury w systemie prawa

The article deals with the protection of the names of historical localities, squares, streets and physiographic objects which comprise a part of cultural heritage. The author discusses assorted aspects of this issue against the background of currently binding legal regulations, with particular attention paid the law of 15 February 1962 on the protection of cultural property. He proposes conclusions concerning the necessity of changing the legislation in force by introducing new, institutional mechanisms for the protection of historical names.
