Journalist in postmodern media system : familiar or alien?

A reflection of the changing for the decades media system is also the role of the journalist in the great media machine. Based on the definition of a journalist by Éric Maigret, which is derived from a functionalist journalism sociology, we sought to answer the question, whether a journalist in the postmodern media system is and should be "familiar" or "alien". Emphasizes the role of the journalist to society concept is the starting point for searching the answer to this question on three levels. The first is the ratio (open or closed) to the political and economic elites, the second to informants and heroes of the materials, and finally the customers to whom modern media exist. As the analysis show, we can distinguish some significant relationships between journalists and other elements of mediasphere, that are irrelevant to the media and the role, which journalists played in society.

Odzwierciedleniem zmieniającego się przez dekady systemu medialnego jest również rola dziennikarza w wielkiej machinie mediów. W oparciu o definicję dziennikarza autorstwa Érica Maigreta, wywodzącą się z funkcjonalistycznej socjologii dziennikarstwa, poszukiwana jest odpowiedź na pytanie, czy dziennikarz w ponowoczesnym systemie medialnym jest i powinien być "swój" czy "obcy". Akcentująca rolę dziennikarza względem społeczeństwa koncepcja stanowi punkt wyjścia do poszukiwania odpowiedzi na to pytanie na trzech płaszczyznach. Pierwszą z nich jest stosunek (otwarty lub zamknięty) do elit politycznych i ekonomicznych, drugą do informatorów i bohaterów tekstów, wreszcie w odniesieniu do odbiorców współczesnych mediów. Jak wynika z analizy, wyróżnić można kilka istotnych zależności między dziennikarzami a innymi elementami mediasfery, które nie są bez znaczenia dla samego przekazu i roli, jaką pełnią dziennikarze w społeczeństwie.
