In Pink Floyd’s The Wall we can a find very significant approach to the case of World War II trauma and it’s overworking in the realm of post-war (and postmodern) culture. The main character, Pink- who is a leader of a rock band - lost his fa culture. The psychological pain and identity crisis overwhelmed his personality and "building the wall" became his one and only life goal. Psychoanalytical and philosophical thought (approach represented by Slavoj Žižek) explain the changes in Pink’s personality and extract the substantial signifiers: melancholy, mourning, ethics and politics, which are transposed on character’s crisis of reality. Former categories describe the change between modern and postmodern vision of historiography, memory and subjectivity and its effect on human existence.
