Artykuł ma na celu ekspozycję problemu innego w paradygmatycznych dla myśli egzystencjalnej ujęciach Martina Heideggera i Jeana-Paula Sartre’a. Argumentacja zmierza do wykazania, że kwestia innego nie jest w filozofii egzystencjalnej prostą konsekwencją bardziej podstawowych rozwiązań ontologicznych, lecz każdorazowo jest jednym z węzłowych punktów refleksji, współkształtującym jej całość. Pytanie o innego forsuje w ten sposób granice ontologii i etyki.

This article aims at exposing the question of the other in the existential philosophy, especially in the paradigmatic approaches of Martin Heidegger and Jean-Paul Sartre. According to my line of argument, the question of the other in the existential philosophy isn’t merely a consequence of the more profound ontological solutions; it is rather one of the focal points of this philosophy, effectively shaping this way of thought. The question of the other essentially obliterates the border between ontology and ethics.
