Bloody Mary and others : teachers nicknames and their figurativity

The article is an attempt at presenting conceptualisation of a teacher-student relationship. The material studied is an experiential/witness narrative about an English teacher and her nickname. Assuming that a nickname is an example of blending, then discovering its content raises a question of what elements have been activated and then integrated and which aspects have been highlighted in the resulting picture. Categories of agent's characterization which emerge in the analysis are, among others, her attitude and actions, attributes and tools as well as consequences for the agent, the teacher herself. Students' (patients') reactions to the teacher's actions and possible consequences for them will get due recognition. The analysis is carried out within the cognitive paradigm, employing conceptual integration as a tool.

Celem artykułu jest próba przedstawienia obrazu konceptualizacji relacji nauczyciela z uczniami. Poddany analizie materiał badawczy stanowi wybrana narracja o nauczycielce języka angielskiego oraz nadane jej przezwisko. Jeżeli przyjmiemy, że przezwisko jest amalgamatem, to odsłonięcie jego zawartości pojęciowej wiąże się z pytaniem, jakie elementy zostały uaktywnione i scalone oraz jakie cechy są uwypuklone w powstałym obrazie. Kategorie opisu Pani X, które wyłaniają się w trakcie analizy, to między innymi jej postawa i działanie, cechy, narzędzia oraz reakcje uczniów. Analiza przykładu zostanie przeprowadzona z zastosowaniem metody integracji pojęciowej.
