Opieka i resocjalizacja wobec przestępczości nieletnich w okresie międzywojennym na przykładzie Lublina

Praca ma na celu omówienie inicjatyw tworzenia się i działania instytucji opiekuńczo-resocjalizacyjnych dla nieletnich (w tym kurateli sądowej) w Lublinie w okresie międzywojennym na tle procesów o zasięgu ogólnopolskim. W przeprowadzonych badaniach starano się określić zasadnicze działania państwa polskiego oraz instytucji prywatnych, samorządowych i kościelnych wobec przestępczości nieletnich w latach 1918-1939.

This book focuses on the problem of crime among children and young people, and on the organisation of care and resocialisation, in Lublin during the time of the Second Republic of Poland (1918 - 1939). The subject has not yet gained wide interest among researchers in the field of the history of education and social care. Likewise, the subject of Lublin and the Lublin region, in terms of crime in the Second Republic, has not enjoyed fair treatment. The exception, which encompasses only crime among the Jewish community, is a book by M. Rodak and his papers on the margins of society, including prostitution, homelessness, and incarceratin. More work has been done on the charity and care of children in Lublin, especially among orphans and vulnerable children.Particularly noteworthy is the work of C. Kępski, A. Puszka, J. Szady and E. Walewander. This dissertation is intended to fill the above-mentioned gap and to discuss initiatives regarding the formation and functtioning of the institutions of care and resocialisation of juveniles, including probation, in Lublin during the interwar period 1918-1939, in respect of nationwide processes.
