Opium of History : Lambro and the cursed soldiers of the november uprising

Artykuł podejmuje próbę alternatywnego odczytania "Lambra" Juliusza Słowackiego jako poematu politycznego, którego rzeczywistym tematem jest nie tyle rozpacz powodowana przeszłością, ile możliwość odwetu po klęsce. Twierdzę, że nawet jeśli "Lambro" nie jest do końca uwikłany w politykę polskiej emigracji, to jest utworem nią inspirowanym, a "grecki kostium" maskuje aktualne odniesienia do partyzantki Józefa Zaliwskiego.

The article undertakes an alternative interpretation of Juliusz Słowacki’s "Lambro" as a political poem whose real theme is not so much despair caused by the past as it is the possibility of retaliation after defeat. I would argue that even if "Lambro" is not fully involved in the politics of the Polish émigré community, it is nevertheless a work inspired by it, and the "Greek costume" masks current references to Józef Zaliwski’s partisans.
