Occurrence of Allium rotundum (Liliaceae) in Skorocice Reserve (Wyżyna Małopolska upland)
Allium rotundum L. is a rare and critically endangered species in Poland. It has only about a dozen localities in Poland, mainly on the Wyżyna Małopolska upland. It is an archaeophyte associated with the Caucalido-Scandicetum association, sometimes found in Poland in xerothermic grassland, fallows, field balks and railway embankments. This note characterizes an abundant locality of the species found in the Skorocice Reserve (Niecka Nidziańska basin). In 2014 the population of Allium rotundum in overgrown xerothermic grassland and adjacent field balks numbered 206 specimens.
