Obowiązek dialogu : wybrane zagadnienia z nauczania kościoła katolickiego o Żydach i judaizmie w XXI wieku

The article is an attempt to summarize the main topics in the teaching of the Catholic Church on Jews and Judaism since 2000. The analysis is based on official Vatican documents, such as Dominus Iesus or The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable and on the Pope’s speeches, eg. during meetings with Jewish communities. What goes to the fore in the analysed material is, among others, recognizing the common roots of both communities and the resulting consequences, pointing out Christians’ and Jews’ common tasks in the world, and above all, deepening the understanding of the actuality of the covenant concluded by God with the chosen nation. The latter problem is manifested eg. in the discussions about the salvation of the Jews and the way of evangelization or mission among them.
