Logical syntax of insanity (Wittgenstein, Beckett, Bernhard)

Artykuł jest próbą analizy filozofii Ludwiga Wittgensteina z perspektywy afektu szaleństwa. Autor pokazuje, w jaki sposób filozofia języka staje przestrzenią namysłu nad granicami poznania świata i możliwości artykulacji doświadczenia rzeczywistości. Interpretując figury obłędu, autor sięga do nowoczesnych tekstów literackich (Samuel Beckett, Thomas Bernhard) po to, by pokazać złożoną relację między językiem, statusem pojęć i pozycją afektu w dyskursie nowoczesnym. Główną tezą artykułu jest podstawowa sprzeczność nowoczesności rozumianej jako przestrzeń poznania i języka. Z jednej strony mamy do czynienia z obłędem wynikającym z radykalnej niemożliwości epistemologicznej, z drugiej - z doświadczeniem radykalnej niewyrażalności i milczenia, które wiąże się z afektem.

This article is an attempt to analyse the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein, from the perspective of the affect of the madness. The author shows how the philosophy of language becomes a space of reflection on the limits of knowledge of the world and the possibility of articulating the experience of reality. While interpreting the figures of insanity, the author goes back to the modern literary texts (Samuel Beckett, Thomas Bernhard) in order to show the complex relationship between language, status and position of the affective concepts in contemporary discourse. The main thesis of the article is the basic contradiction of modernity which is understood as a space for knowledge and language. On the one hand, we have to deal with the madness which is the result of the radical epistemological impossibility, on the other - with the experience of radical ineffability and silence, which is associated with the affect.
