Three historians of Russian thought : Spengler, Scheler, Mann

Artykuł przedstawia fragmenty refleksji na tematy rosyjskie trzech ważnych niemieckich myślicieli i eseistów: Oswalda Spenglera, Maxa Schelera oraz Tomasza Manna. Autor twierdzi, że tematy rosyjskie stanowiły ważny element ich rozmyślań. Kwestia rosyjska nie była pobocznym wątkiem w ich twórczości, ale ważnym elementem namysłu nad ludzkim losem, istotą kultury i sensem historii. Szczególna uwaga została skupiona na zagadnieniach związanych z etyką, filozofią kultury i historiozofią.

The article presents fragments of reflections on Russian issues by three important German thinkers and essayists: Oswald Spengler, Max Scheler and Thomas Mann. The author claims that Russian topics were an important element of their reflections. The Russian question was not a side thread in their work, but an important element of reflection on human being, the essence of culture and the meaning of history. Particular attention has been focused on issues related to ethics, philosophy of culture and history.
