Celem rozdziału jest opisanie wyzwań wewnętrznych i głównych kierunków polityki zagranicznej USA w 2020 r. W owym należy wyróżnić co najmniej cztery wewnętrzne wyzwania: pandemia SARS-CoV-2, kryzys gospodarczy, spór o systemową dyskryminację Afroamerykanów przez służby bezpieczeństwa i wymiar sprawiedliwości oraz delegitymizacji federalnych instytucji państwa. Jeśli chodzi o główne kierunku polityki zagranicznej należy wskazać wielopłaszczyznową rywalizację z Chińską Republiką Ludową oraz Federacją Rosyjską, a także spory z Koreą Północną i Iranem. Również w relacjach transatlantyckich w 2020 r. miał miejsce spory polityczno-wojskowe i gospodarcze.

The aim of the chapter is to describe the domestic challenges and main directions of US foreign policy in 2020. At least four domestic challenges were distinguished: the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the economic crisis, the dispute over systemic discrimination of African Americans by the security services and the justice system, and the delegitimization of federal institutions. Regarding the main directions of foreign policy, the multi-faceted rivalry of the US with the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation, as well as disputes with North Korea and Iran, were characterized. Transatlantic relations also saw political, military, and economic disputes in 2020.
