Transmedia strategies in the life and work of the Polish primitive painter, Nikifor Krynicki

The article analyses the transmedia processes on the example of life and creativity of Nikifor Krynicki, an artist-primitive. The author considers issues of presenting transmedia storytelling not only in modern convergence culture but also in traditional media, exposing the artist’s character and his contribution to Polish art of the XXth century. The author studies the phenomenon of illiterate, unable to deliberately creating an artistic career as an example of success achieved through the use of transmedia strategies.complementary, mutual relations of content migrating between media platforms are an important issue in the era of developing new technologies, due to the formulation of a scientific term describing these processes relatively late, at the beginning of the XXIst century. In view of the foregoing, proving the occurrence of transmedia processes in traditional media can be an interesting basis for further scientific research. The analysis of the sources helps to realize a famous artist from an unknown perspective and to emphasize the importance of socially excluded people in establishing cultural heritage. So the author discusses about the relations between seemingly distant scientific areas, such as cultural studies and media studies. The author supports the conclusions with the deep critical analysis of scientific sources.
