Artykuł traktuje o twórczości filmowej Béli Tarra jako egzemplifikacji współczesnego kina artystycznego. Z jednej strony dzieła Tarra posiadają wyraziste cechy znamionujące indywidualny styl. Z drugiej zaś pewne strategie narracyjne i stylistyczne sprawiają, że twórczość Węgra jest wpisywana w międzykulturowy nurt "slow cinema", do któego przynależą także Theo Angelopoulos z Grecji, Aleksandr Sokurow z Rosji czy Lavrente Diaz z Filipin oraz Carlos Reygadas z Meksyku. Światowa tendencja "slow cinema" stanowi nader interesujący przykład tego, w jaki sposób zachodzą procesy legislacyjne (orzekania o nowych nurtach i ustanawiania nowych gatunków) w przestrzeni współczesnej sztuki.

The article treats about Béla Tarr's filmmaking as an exemplification of contemporary cinema. On the one hand, Tarra's works have distinctive features that characterize the individual style. On the other hand, some narrative and stylistic strategies have made Hungarian writing into the intercultural movement of "slow cinema", which includes Theo Angelopoulos of Greece, Aleksandr Sokuro of Russia, Lavrente Diaz of the Philippines and Carlos Reygadas of Mexico. The global tendency of "slow cinema" is a very interesting example of how legislative processes take place (adjudication about new trends and establishing new species) in the space of contemporary art.
