The works of Konstantin Stoilov in the Constituent Assembly of the Principality of Bulgaria (February 10th - April 16th, 1879)

The article discusses the issue of participation of Konstantin Stoilov, PhD. in the Constituent Assembly of the Principality of Bulgaria between February and April 1879. The attendance at the works of the Assembly was the first serious political debut for young Stoilov, who in the following years held number of important government positions in Bulgaria. Because of his excellent education background, Stoilov managed to introduce during the debates in the Assembly a number of propositions in the spirit of moderate conservatism, to ensure the development and consolidate the foundations of newly liberated Bulgaria. The participation of Konstantin Stoilov in the proceedings of the Assembly was described on a wider background of the political realities in Bulgaria and the quality of the Bulgarian elites of that time.

W artykule omówiona została kwestia udziału dra Konstantina Stoiłowa (1853-1901) w pracach nad przygotowaniem konstytucji Księstwa Bułgarii z 1879 roku (tzw. konstytucja tyrnowska). Uczestnictwo w obradach w Tyrnowie stanowiło swoisty debiut polityczny młodego Stoiłowa, który w późniejszych latach pełnił wiele ważnych funkcji państwowych w Bułgarii. Dzięki gruntownemu wykształceniu Stoiłow wniósł ważny wkład w rozwój rodzimej myśli politycznej i prawnej, opowiadając się w czasie obrad za wprowadzeniem rozwiązań w duchu umiarkowanego konserwatyzmu oraz za zapewnieniem podstaw rozwoju i utrwalenia państwowości bułgarskiej. Udział Stoiłowa w obradach Konstytuanty został przedstawiony na szerszym tle ówczesnych realiów politycznych odrodzonej Bułgarii oraz kondycji, w jakiej znajdowały się elity bułgarskie drugiej połowy XIX wieku.
