The Mesolithic raw stone materials in the Tyrol and the adjacent area

The study serves the purpose of presenting alpine stone raw materials and their outcrops in the middle period of the Stone Age (Mesolithic) in the area of the historic Tyrol region and the adjacent Eastern Alps. The clear selection of raw material was related to its processing and usefulness in the production of specific stone artefacts. In the discussed geographical area, we can distinguish various regions with an occurrence of a particular type of raw material. As a result, we can see a connection between these areas and local archaeological cultures. This situation fostered the creation of new social relations.
