Maksym Grek, dwie koncepcje antropologiczne i słowiańska idea
The anthropological conceptions of Maximus the Greek and Giovanni Pico della Mirandola are compared in the article. The first one, faithful to the Patristic Tradition, belonged to the mystical-ascetic trend in the Orthodoxy monasticism called Hesychasm. Giovanni Pico, who was a humanistic philosopher, represents a different religious-cultural tradition. Maximus the Greek’s idea of Slavic unity was determined by the religious unity. The basis for the unity of all the Orthodox people will be one human nature that is the result of baptism and a long process of spiritual transformation. The Holy Fathers of Eastern Christianity, following the Byzantine tradition, termed it this phenomenon as deification (gr. theosis).
