Land use changes and their impact on the functioning of the natural environment in the catchment of the Upper Wilsznia

The author discusses land use changes observed in the past eighty years in the catchment of the Upper Wilsznia, the Beskid Niski Mts. For the chosen historical periods the author reconstructs the dominant character of land use and the height of crop boundary. He also presents connections between historical events and man’s activities, explains the causes, and distinguishes stages in which these changes took place. On that basis he shows the way in which land use changes affected the circulation of matter and energy in the catchment (chiefly morphological and hydrological processes).

Autor omawia zmiany w użytkowaniu ziemi jakie zaszły w okresie ostatnich 80 lat na obszarze zlewni górnej Wilszni, w Beskidzie Niskim. Dla określonych okresów historycznych autor rekonstruuje dominujący charakter użytkowania i wysokość granicy upraw. Przedstawia też powiązania pomiędzy wydarzeniami historycznymi i działalnością człowieka wpływającą na zmiany użytkowania. Jednocześnie ukazuje te zmiany w przestrzeni, wyjaśnia przyczyny i wyróżnia etapy, w jakich następowały. Na tej podstawie ukazuje w jaki sposób zmiany w użytkowaniu wpłynęły na obieg materii i energii wewnątrz zlewni (gł. procesy morfologiczne i hydrologiczne).
