Natura ludzka i natura zmysłów
In this paper I shortly discuss the essential qualities that seem to be attributed to the senses by (most) philosophers. These qualities I believe to be the following: subjectivity, potentiality, indirectness, passivity, receptivity, peripherality, factuality, concreteness (of objects), variety,
usefulness and uncertainty. I also try to show to what extent this apparently elaborated and refined view mirrors human nature, i.e., our pre-philosophical understanding of the world as well as ourselves, our common attitudes, usual goals, and widespread intuitions.
