Teaching English to young learners is definitely not an easy task and requires that a teacher is well-prepared, selects appropriate methods, as well as demonstrates vast and comprehensive knowledge about the children development processes. The interest and motivation of the youngest learners appear to be the crucial elements in order to make acquisition of the second language efficient. As a matter of fact, there is an extensive range of manners to introduce English to pre-primary children. In my thesis, I discuss the issues concerning the use of non-competitive games to practice vocabulary in pre-primary education. As far as the second language acquisition by young learners is concerned, vocabulary becomes the central aspect as children, by knowing English words and their meanings, will find it easier to master English.
