    This thesis is devoted to the analysis of selected Russian and Polish lullabies – their origin associated with folklore and magic. It contains an overwiev of the phonetic aspect of the lullabies as well as an analysis of lexis – from the perspective of its structure and function. The major criterion for distinguishing a lullaby from other genres is concerned with the conative function of language – its addressees being children. Pragmatics, influencing the communicative content of lullabies is presented from the point of view of the sender, i.e. a mother’s point of view.The thesis contains an analysis of the texts of lullabies, a comparison of Russian and Polish lullabies (to show differences and similarities) and conclusions. The vocabulary constituting the research material was chosen with regard to showing the diversity of this genre.
    Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest rosyjskim i polskim kołysankom – ich pochodzeniu związanemu z folklorem oraz magią. Zawiera spojrzenie ze strony fonetycznej oraz leksykalno – strukturalnej. Kryteria spełniające wymogi kołysanek są ściśle związane ze specyficznym językiem skierowanym do najmłodszych odbiorców – do dzieci. Pragmatyka, wpływająca na przekazywaną treść w pieśniach, pokazana od strony nadawcy – matki. Praca zawiera analizę poszczególnych rosyjskich i polskich tekstów, zestawienie oraz wnioski porównawcze. Leksyka stanowiąca materiał badawczy została wybrana względem pokazania różnorodności tego gatunku.

    Chrzest święty inspiracją do podjęcia walki duchowej w życiu katolików świeckich
    The sacrament of Baptism does not contradict the truth about the freedom of man towards God’s redemptive plans, but just the opposite, it confirms it. Owing to the grace of revival received in this sacrament, man is summoned to a voluntary response to the gifts of God. In everyday life, this response is marked by one-of-a-kind struggle which we usually define as spiritual struggle. Within the framework of the theological analysis of the source, effects and fruits of the sacrament of Baptism, this study emphasizes the motivational dimension of this sacrament. It tries to justify why from the moment of Baptism, when taking subsequent sacraments, man is supposed to live a deep spiritual life, and thus lead persistent and victorious spiritual struggle. Moreover, in the text of the article we can find references to the community dimension of the aforementioned struggle. In the pastoral service of the Church, the sacrament of Baptism should be shown both as an inspiration to undertake spiritual struggle by all those who believe in Christ, and as a theological source of the general justification of the permanent Christian formation in the perspective of the tasks the Church is facing today as a community, coming to the contemporary world with the joyful address about the paschal victory of Christ.

    Dwujęzyczność twórców literatury polskiej jako problem badawczy historii języka
    Bilingualism of the creators of the Polish literature as a research problem in the history of language concerns the Polish language which remains and takes shape in “one space with other languages”, while on the other, it finds a theoretical motivation in the paradigm of contemporary linguistics where bilingualism is considered to be a fundamental problem of the modern science of language, and it postulates the necessity of investigation into inter-cultural communication. As an object of research, bilingualism of eminent authors determines a series of special problems. The first set of issues pertains to the dimension of individual bilingualism of particular bilingual authors: the question of the author’s choice of one of the two (or more) languages to be the substance of his or her work, and the question of conditioning of this choice. Next, the question of how the author operates the norm characteristic of each of the two codes in a specific communication situation, which surfaces as a play on norms in bilingual authors, the question of analysis and description of the linguistic behaviour of the authors as bilinguals, and that of the connection of the languages which the authors use with the genres of the texts which they create in these languages. In a further perspective, the problem appears of the dimension of collective bilingualism of the authors from the milieu of the Great Emigration, and a possible diachronic reference of the investigated phenomenon to the contemporary dialect of Polish emigrants in France.

    Numerous scientific studies confirm that, apart from environmental and genetic factors, a significant role is played by gastrointestinal microbiota in the aetiology of type 2 diabetes and obesity. Currently, scientists mainly focus on the distal intestinal microbiota, while the equally important proximal parts of the intestine are overlooked. The aim of the study was a qualitative analysis of the structure of the duodenal mucosa microbiota in groups of patients with obesity and with type 2 diabetes and where obesity qualified for bariatric surgery: sleeve gastrectomy. The microbiological results obtained were compared with some clinical parameters. As a result, it was possible to determine the microbiological core that the treatment and control groups had in common, including phyla: Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, and Actinobacteria. The patients with obesity and with type 2 diabetes and obesity presented a significantly lower number of genus Bifidobacterium compared to healthy subjects. Furthermore, the numbers of Bifidobacterium were positively correlated with the high density lipoprotein (HDL) concentration in the groups under study. The obtained results indicate that bacteria of the genus Bifidobacterium should be considered in the future in the context of a potential biomarker in the progress of type 2 diabetes and obesity.

    The aim of the paper is to present the most important results of the research carried out for the case study on the
    effects of Rail Baltica investments in the Warsaw Metropolitan Area (WMA) urban node. The research was carried out
    as part of the EU project NSB CoRe (North Sea Baltic Connector of Regions). In the article the main conclusions from the
    study are presented, describing changes that have supervened in the analyzed area (communes within the boundaries
    of the WMA, at a distance of up to 3 km from the E75 railway line and ones crossed by national road 8/S8) in the period
    of the E75 line’s modernization. The analysis focuses on changes in settlement structure as well as the functioning of
    railway transport, with an assessment of the improvements by its users. Conclusions from the analysis of changes in the
    spatio-functional and socio-economical dimensions are described and concern the number of building licenses granted,
    changes in population size, changes in the number of registered natural person business entities, changes in the number
    of transactions on the real estate market. Moreover, in the area of transport, the paper presents an assessment of the
    quality of railway services on the E75 line through passengers’ opinions and the integration of the Baltic railway with
    alternative transport modes.
    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie najważniejszych wyników badań przeprowadzonych na potrzeby Studium
    wpływu modernizacji linii kolejowej E75 na rozwój Obszaru Metropolitalnego Warszawy, Przedmiotowe opracowanie
    powstało w ramach projektu NSB CoRe (North Sea Baltic Connector of Regions). W artykule zaprezentowano
    najważniejsze wnioski z przedmiotowego Studium, opisujące zmiany, które zaszły na obszarze badań (zawartego
    w granicach OMW, obejmującego gminy położone w zasięgu 3 km od linii kolejowej E75 oraz gminy, przez które
    przebiega droga krajowa nr 8/S8), w okresie trwającej modernizacji linii E75. W tym celu skoncentrowano się na analizie
    zmian w przestrzeni osadniczej oraz w zakresie funkcjonowania transportu kolejowego i oceny przez podróżnych
    przyjętych usprawnień. Opisano wnioski z analizy zmian w wymiarze funkcjonalno-przestrzennym i społecznogospodarczym
    obszaru badań w zakresie: wydanych pozwoleń na budowę, zmiany liczby ludności, zarejestrowanych
    podmiotów gospodarczych osób fizycznych, transakcji zawartych na rynku nieruchomości. W artykule przedstawiono
    również zmiany, które zaszły w okresie modernizacji w zakresie transportu obejmujące ocenę jakości usług
    przewoźników kolejowych realizowanych na linii E75, opinie pasażerów na temat funkcjonowania transportu

    which must necessarily meet the conditions of high specificity. The use of a fuzzy oil drop model to identify residues constituting the walls of the tunnel located in the center of the protein seems highly justified. The fuzzy oil drop model
    which assumes the highest concentration of hydrophobicity in the center of the molecule
    which creates favorable conditions for carrying out the catalytic process. The use of fuzzy oil drop model has been verified using the potato (solanum tuberosum) epoxide hydrolase I. This forms the preliminary basis for testing the fuzzy oil drop model. The data presented here provides an impetus for a large scale analysis of all proteins containing tunnels in enzyme structures available in the Protein Data Bank (PDB).
